IT’S ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP
Exalt & Salute offers Dressage training and instruction, with a specialization in bio-mechanics for both horse and rider. The goal of learning and applying bio-mechanical riding is to obtain optimal movement in the discipline in which you desire to ride or compete. Whether you're a Dressage rider who wants your horse to move as elegantly as possible; a hunter/jumper who wants your horse to move easily around the show ring; or a barrel racer who would like to have the fastest and most flexible horse ... every discipline of riding will benefit. Biomechanics-focused training enables us to pinpoint any issues that you and your horse may be experiencing, which in turn allows you to make corrections faster and more effectively. As a result riding becomes more enjoyable, your horse stays sound, and test scores will improve. What's not to like about that?! Come and experience the difference bio-mechanics training can have on you and your horse!
WHAT SETS ME APART FROM OTHER BIO-MECHANICS TRAINERS
I am unique in my understanding and knowledge of the bio-mechanics of both horse and rider.
While other trainers may teach the bio-mechanics of the horse or of the rider, I combine the two.
One of the first areas that I focus on is teaching you how to maintain your independent balance.
As riders, we need to understand that when we sit on our horses, we change their sense of balance. While we might not realize it, when we ride we often try to find our balance using either the reins or the stirrups (or worse, both!) If we are unable to create and maintain our own balance while riding, how could we possibly help our horses with theirs?
The second area that I focus on is teaching you to ride your horse's shoulders and hips, instead of the horse's legs as we are often taught. If you've been around the horse world for awhile, you might have heard of the term "the Bridge".
The Bridge is the area on the horse's body that connects the hips to the shoulders. It is one of the weakest parts of our horse's body and it happens to be where we sit! The only way to strengthen and develop the Bridge is to ride the shoulders and hips. The concept of riding our horse's in this way will allow us to truly develop our horse's strength in the place where we sit, so that our horses can better carry our weight.
Through these two main focus areas, I have developed a holistic approach to riding bio-mechanically. This, in turn, helps create and maintain a stronger and healthier horse and rider. For more insight into some of my training techniques, please feel free to read some of my blog posts.

"The rider has to want to learn, truly and honestly, without making excuses, without blaming the horse, the saddle, the bit, the footing, the boots, the breeches, the farrier, the vet, or whatever. The desire to learn must be greater than anything else - pride, vanity, ego, everything. It comes down to the question of how important it is to the rider to really learn to ride, and how far he or she wants to go in his or her riding."
